Update - Central Region – Upper Midwest and Ohio Valley- Severe Weather Impacts
As an update to the Industry Alert that was published on the morning of August 13 power has been restored at the Gary IN Local Processing Center LPC and the facility is processing volume. Local retail and delivery units are also starting to have power restored and are coordinating with the Gary, IN LPC to process and deliver volume to customers.
Forecasts still show potential for severe weather in the region into Friday August 14. Impacts are expected as the region recovers from the storms and works through the remainder of the week. USPS is proactively working to stay ahead of potential disruptions and will provide updates if any additional impacts occur.
